Wheel alignment

When the car pulls or the tires wear unevenly

Toe and camber can shift in everyday driving. Often a curb or a deep pothole is enough. We measure and adjust everything so your tires wear evenly.

Five signs your alignment is off

  • The car pulls to one side on a straight road. If the tire pressure is right, camber or caster are usually set differently on the left and right.
  • The steering wheel is off center even though you are driving straight.
  • A tire is much more worn on one edge than in the middle. It is not rolling quite straight and scrubs a little over the road with every turn.
  • After a pothole or curb, the car drives differently than before. A hard hit can bend a tie rod or control arm without anything visible from the outside.
  • The tires are worn out sooner than the previous set, even though you drive about as much. A misaligned axle wears them down without you noticing anything at the wheel.

Most people notice uneven wear late, because the inner edge faces the middle of the car. During every wheel change, we measure the tread of each tire with a laser. If one edge is much more worn than the other, we will tell you.

Open: Does the laser scan during the wheel change print a report with an alignment note? If so, the paragraph above can mention the report again.

When an alignment is worth it

New set of tires

Before mounting

On a misaligned axle, new tires quickly wear unevenly. The alignment costs only a fraction of a new set.

Pothole, curb

After a hard hit

The toe can be off afterwards, even if nothing is visible from the outside.

Suspension work

After the repair

After replacing shock absorbers, springs, control arms or tie rods, the alignment has to be measured again.

Uneven wear

When a tire wears unevenly

If a tire is more worn on one edge than on the other, at least one wheel is not running straight.

How we measure

Measured with Hunter equipment

Our alignment station is a Hunter Hawkeye Elite. Cameras capture the targets on all four wheels, and the system compares toe and camber with the values the manufacturer specifies for your car. You get a printout of the values before and after the adjustment.

  • Depending on the car, the alignment usually takes 45 minutes. You need an appointment for it.
  • We can also just measure without adjusting. Then you see how your alignment is and decide afterwards.
  • After an accident, we measure the car before the repair. That way it is on record how the alignment was after the damage.
  • We know classic cars especially well.

Usually 45 minutes, depending on the car. You need an appointment and can wait in our waiting area.

Can I just have it measured?
